The 2026 Bay Village Independence Day Classic got underway Wednesday evening with opening-round pool play across five age divisions.
Avon Lake Gold opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over Bay Village Grey-Albertini in the 8U division.
In 10U action, Force Ohio-Wolfpack defeated Forest City Lumberjacks-Thompson 19-7, Rocky River-Dillon topped Titans Orange 13-8, Bay Village-Lydon earned a 22-4 victory over Rocky River-Moore, and Forest City Lumberjacks-Doll defeated Fairview Warriors 14-9.
Lake Erie Cobras opened 11U play with an 11-5 win over Parma Warriors, while Westlake Demons defeated Bay Village Blue-Horn 14-3.
The 13U division featured Avon Lake Gold edging Bay Village Blue-Linden 13-10, while Rocky River-Spies earned a 13-4 win over NMC Baseball-Blasco.
In 14U, Three Outs Academy-Lackner posted the highest scoring output of the evening with a 29-4 victory over Rocky River-Apotsos.
Pool play continues Thursday with a full slate of games as teams look to improve their position before bracket play begins later in the tournament.
